Alright, it is officially summer and summer at Stage Door Productions means….Summer Camps!

Happy SunThe Stage Door Stars division is back for another year of great camps and activities!

Stage Door StarsStage Door Stars’ mission is to serve children with special needs by offering opportunities in theatre education, performance, and outreach. The division targets school aged children up to 22 years old!

Camps will be held the weeks of June 22-26, 2015, and July 6-10, 2015, at Massaponax High School at 8201 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg, Virginia!

There is a new camp to be featured this year in 2015! It is the “Behind the Scenes Camp” where campers will work on and learn about set design, costumes, lighting, sound, and more for the production of High School Musical!

Camp orientation will be held June 13, 2015, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Massaponax High School library. So, be sure to get your child registered now!

The cost is $350 per camp session.

Stage Door Productions and the Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation are proud to present the Youth Theatre Summer Camps!

All camps are held at Lafayette Elementary or Walker Grant Middle School and cost $100.

Improvisation and Comedy

Actors will polish their funny bones while participating in comedy sketches, improvisations, and acting games designed for enhancing comedic timing and talent. The week will conclude in a showcase of improvisation, comedy scenes, and original sketch comedy.

Creative Drama

Young actors will be introduced to the imaginative world of visual and performing arts. We will explore well-known stories and songs using creative movement, puppetry, pantomime, and dance. The week will conclude in a showcase featuring creative movement and scripted scenes.

Acting Production

This acting production camp will include instruction in movement, voice, character development, and dialogue delivery as the students prepare a play. Emphasis will be placed on the rehearsal process and developing the students as capable and creative performers.
